This is a photograph mum must have carried around with her.
It's obviously well thumbed and probably became creased in the bottom of her handbag. I think it was taken when we lived in Lincoln. Dad had written an article for "Redemption Tidings" and he was asked to get a professional photo to publish alongside his byline.
The back of the picture shows how special this man was to her .....

Seeing Mum's handwriting reminds me of a box she had with all her writing. She wrote a short story that was to be published by a woman's magazine as a mini-volume. For some reason it never was.
The box also contained several magazines from a writing correspondence course, along with a few humourous articles she wrote for woman's magazines and "Redemption Tidings.
In the late 70's Mum started work on a book about Grandad Newsholme but soon realised there were only a few people who remembered him that were still alive.
