Soldier's Release

Dad was "demobbed" in 1946, two days before his 26th birthday. He was a sergeant.

His CO highly recommended him in the short testimonial in his Soldier's Discharge Book.
Military conduct: Exemplary
Testimonial: An N.C.O. of the highest integrity. Honest and hard working. Always performed his duties with alacrity. Highly recommended for any post in similar capacity in civilian life.

He was in the reserves for some time after this. Here he is in his uniform on the lawn of what was then mum's home in Coventry. He's only wearing two stripes - I'm not sure why.
